Rooted in Dutch workwear history, this jacket draws inspiration from the Manchester workman’s or Kletter jacket. Once worn by coalmen, garbage collectors, and gardeners across North Holland. In the 60s and 70s, it evolved into a symbol of solidarity, adopted by Amsterdam’s activist communities. The Carpenter collection pays tribute to de Branderij, a cooperative carpentry workshop born from the city’s squatting movement. This jacket is an ode to their craft, their resistance, and their enduring influence on local culture and style.
