Mizuno

The MXR brings the retro running vibe of Mizuno’s 2000s designs to a wider audience, building on the legacy of the Wave Rider 10. Its name comes from the Maximizer line, a trusted running series in Mizuno’s domestic market, known for quality and performance. Though an entry-level silhouette, the MXR stays true to Mizuno’s standards, with careful attention to tooling, multiple rubber details, and technical color blocking. This version features synthetic suede overlays, tonal normcore colors, and a slightly tighter mesh for a casual, mid-season feel. The design is inspired by the 2009 Maximizer, dug from Mizuno’s archives during the retro running resurgence. This MXR “CASUAL” version combines synthetic suede with two types of mesh for a modern yet nostalgic look.
